Fostering a sense of wonder about words
Kara Lee is the owner and principal trainer at Horton Educational Services (HES). She works with teachers who are seeking meaningful and relevant training and professional development in order to serve students who exhibit difficulties with written language skills (i.e. reading, writing, spelling). Ms. Lee earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She attended the School Psychology program at Miami University, where she earned both a Master of Science and Educational Specialist degrees. She worked as a School Psychologist for six years before going into the classroom as an Intervention Specialist. For seven years, she taught students with mild to moderate disabilities in grades kindergarten through six in a wide variety of classroom settings. Ms. Lee has also worked as a Trainer and Supervisor for the Children's Dyslexia Center in Columbus, Ohio and has taught classes and conducted trainings for a variety of school districts on a wide range of topics. She has over 1,000 hours of OG tutoring and training experience. She has been a member of the Academic Language Therapy Association since 2012. She is an Instructor of Certified Academic Language Practitioners and a Certified Academic Language Therapist.
