TESTIMONIALS
Thank you so much for sharing your time and talents with all of us. I have already learned so much and look forward to learning so much more. I find this training to be the most rewarding of my professional career.
As a teacher of 20 years, I cannot begin to tell you how much this training has already changed my view of teaching reading. The renewed excitement I have to come back to school and help these struggling students would not have been possible had I not taken this class. I would love to take any classes Kara offers in the future. I am going to encourage other teachers to take this class as well. In the midst of all that is going on in the world, this class has even helped returning to school less stressful because I now have the tools to teach my students that I never had before. {These classes} are a priceless resource for teachers. Thank you for the opportunity!
Thank you, Kara, for giving the teachers in Ottawa County the opportunity to take this training and help their students going forward. We, the Foundation, are so appreciative of your efforts to make this happen. We also want to thank the teachers and administrators who made this possible. It has been our dream for years to help our dyslexic students by offering dyslexia training to our teachers. The dream has come true, and we thank all of you for being a part of it and passing your knowledge on to your students. We hope that we can continue these trainings in the future, so please spread the word!
Thank you so much!
What was the most meaningful part of the training?
Learning the science of reading - how the brain works when reading and how that causes us to teach reading differently
Understanding both the WHY and the how in teaching the fundamentals of language.
Learning more about how true reading disabilities (dyslexia) can impact a struggling reader and how to best intervene with targeted interventions.
Learning about dyslexia and how to help my students who have reading difficulties.
one-on-one interaction with the training leader and practicing the skills with colleagues
The wealth of information we learned and the supplies to be able to implement what we learned in the classroom.
The explicit strategies and intentional progression of teaching concepts to students.
The most meaningful part of my dyslexia training was learning about the different types of dyslexia and how to provide explicit phonics instruction to my students.
